Tamika Rogers was born August 4, 1979 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She grew up in the Air Force and traveled her whole life with her family. She comes from a very close-knit family consisting of Elder David Rothwell (father), Sharon Rothwell (mother) Natasha Rothwell (sister), Tiffany Rothwell (sister), and David I. Rothwell (brother). Growing up in the church and living in a Christian household, Tamika received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at a young age.
Tamika Rogers graduated from Westlake High School in Waldorf, Maryland in 1997 and started Eastern University in the fall of that same year, where she met Pastor Khalil. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education in May of 2001 with a certification in Elementary Education K-6. She got married to the love of her life, Pastor Khalil Rogers, on July 12, 2003. They are the proud parents of two beautiful children, Talia Sanai born on August 30, 2007 and Khalil Micah born on November 12, 2009. In May of 2007, Tamika graduated from Eastern University with a Masters in Multicultural Education with a concentration in Urban Education. In February of 2020, Tamika obtained 60 credits beyond her Master’s Degree as well as her 2nd certification in English 7-12, which gave her the accomplishment of Senior Career Teacher.
Tamika has always had a heart for the youth, which lead her in her career as a teacher and youth ministries in church. She started teaching in the fall of 2001 through 2018 in the classrooms in grades K-5. Currently she is in a leadership role as the Literacy Lead for the J. Hampton Moore Elementary School in the Northeast section of Philadelphia for grades K-5. Her heart and passion for the youth not only shows for her own children, but for children that she comes across. Her passions and hobbies are spending time with family and friends, running, reading, cooking, traveling, interior designing, and shopping.
